Ashton Sr. Session

   Have you ever been out shooting and feel like you are running from the sun?  I felt like that on this shoot.  It seemed like every background that I wanted to use was in the wrong spot this day.  Now that I look back I guess it was a blessing ( I sometimes have a hard time seeing a blessing).  The reason I say this is because it made me think a lot more and not just go on with everyday shooting.  I shot this session in a couple of places that I had never shot before.  I guess I should handle more of the roadblocks in life like this.

    It did help that I had a great subject to work with.  It was one of those sessions that made me feel like I was not really working. (I didn't just say that)  I like those people that you run across in life that make your life easier and they don't even know that they did.  Thanks so much Ashton it was great getting to know and photograph you.  I do hope you enjoy the blog post.

Campbell at one

Boy, just when you think you don't want anymore kids someone like Campbell comes in for a portrait session.  This little girl will steal your heart and I personally know someone she has done this too but I will not name names.  (It could be a grandparent or two.)  Anyway I just wanted show off some of my favs. at our window light side of the camera room.  Oh yea, good luck with the swimming lessons.  The city of Gainesville has refilled the pool.  They said someone must have been really thirsty.  Hope you enjoy the shots.

North Tower Shoot

    Well this day started out kind of slow but picked up fast.  I was in the studio when I received a call for a shoot and they needed it fast.

    So I headed off to the Medical Center to do a shot of the new North Tower.  It seems that they needed this shot for a magazine that goes to press on Friday morning.  ( This is the type of work that I always seem to get.)  Noooo Pressure.   The cool thing about this shoot is that I needed a lift to get up high enough to clear a lot of junk in front of the building.  You see, they have people still on the job site.  That's where the fun comes in.  Me, a camera case, and a lift with a 120 foot reach.  We had to go out at such a angle that we did not get the whole 120 feet just about 90 feet of it.  The photos show a little of what is was like and the final product.

    This is not the first time I have had to use lifts like this, but it is the first time we have ever had so much wind.  Needless to say it was a good ride it was probably better that Melissa stayed on the ground.

  

Erin & Drew in Jekyll Island

   I know!!! I was doing so well keeping up with my blog and then I seem to fall off the face of the earth. Maybe this post will makeup for the time off. Travis and I went down to Jekyll Island this past weekend and shot an awesome wedding. 

   Thunder storms were all around us and as the bride and groom started to say their vows the clouds opened up and the sun started to shine on the entire wedding. (The hand of GOD!) Anyway I just wanted to give you a taste of the day and to say of course you would have to had to be there. So for now I just want to say best wishes to this great couple and thanks for having me be apart of your most special day.

Fastpitch Softball

Well it's that time again. This is the time of year that Adelaide has been waiting for all winter. Time for fastpitch softball and yes I know I said I was not going to coach again, but how can I turn down Adelaide's sad eyes when she asked if I was going to coach her team (I know I am a SUCKER!). It is a lot of fun once you get through all of the paper work and can actually get out on the field and get dirty. So if you are reading this blog please stop and say a little prayer for me. I now have twelve 7&8 year old little girls to take under my wing and try to teach them something about this game.
I will try to blog as much as I can through the season to let you know how it is all going. Maybe I will have some time to post some photos too.

On Enemy Grounds

Being the Georgia Tech fan that I am it almost broke my heart when my girls said that they would rather go to a Georgia game than a Georgia Tech game. You know what they say about daddy's girls. (Well even if you don't what they say, who ever they are.)
Well anyway we ended up on the University of Georgia's campus to see the Lady dogs play. Although they were beat by Arkansas this afternoon we did have a great time. If you look very close at the photos you will notice that I do not appear in any of them. Not that people did not offer to photograph me, I just said no thanks. You know what happen to Michael Phelps this past week. I'm just saying I don't have the time to be on the run from CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CBS, Discovery Channel, etc... Well it's time to start winding down for the night and Repent. --Later--

Maile Sr. Night

Well for those of you who don't know it all came to an end tonight. It was bittersweet. The last game of the regular season for the Lady Raiders (bitter part). They beat Winder 43 to 35 (sweet part). I want to take just a moment to say a little something. Maile I have not known you since you were a baby or anything like that, but I have know you long enough to say that you ROCK!!! You are definitely something special. If you take on the rest of the world like you do the basketball court then nothing can stop you. I hope that my own girls take a little of what they saw in you this season. I have enjoyed every minute on the court and in the stands with your parents even though I have to wear ear plugs if I sit with your dad. Well I said that so I could tell you I wish you all the best in the future and I pray for blessings over you in everything that you do.
