Adelaide's Birthday

Well, I know you hear it all the time from people but it seems be so true. Time goes by so fast it is really hard to keep up sometimes (I know some of you will just say I am slow) but it is soooo true.
Anyway, I wanted to wish my youngest, my baby girl a big happy 9th Birthday. I would also like to share a few photos from the past year or so just to show you what I have to put up with everyday.
Oh, yea start to pray because the next big birthday is Harlie's 16th. I want even go into Shelby's but that could be a big post also.

Later,
Tom

Charity Ball Belles

In the past week I have had the honor of photographing some of the most beautiful young ladies of Hall County. It is that time of year when we all start getting charged up for the Charity Ball, a huge fund raiser for the Jr. League of Hall County. I know it's tough right now but get ready to open up the wallets and start to give. If you don't know about the Jr. League, please check them out. These ladies are doing so much for the community and it's all volunteer . Every penny that they get is put to such good use.
Well, on with the post. I would like to congratulate all seven of the belles chosen this year. They are Louisa Jacobs, Taylor Harrison, Maggie Norton, Parrish Brown, Jessica Young, Eliza Paris and Anna Claire Dover. Good luck to all of you this year and in the future. I would also like to thank the Jr. League members for allowing me to be a part of this great event and for all you do through out the year.

Freddie Way

I would like to give a big shout out to Freddie Way this morning. I was up and listening this morning to 106.1 WNGC at 6:30am (That's right MOM I did just say 6:30am). When I heard a good friend Freddie Way on with Moby in the Morning. I have photographed Freddie in the past for his CD cover and some other publicity work, and I have to say I am honored to know him and his family. He is one the most humble guys I know.
I am posting one of the shots from a shoot we did and the others from a show he did at the Red Clay Theater in Duluth Ga. I will try to post some more in a week or so from the next show. Oh, I am glad you asked about the next show. He will be at Wild Bills in Duluth on October 21, 2009.
Congrats Freddie see ya at Wild Bills.

Poole & Allison Wedding

This is a post I have been trying to make for two weeks now.  I thought I would be able to do it over my week at the beach.  (silly me!!!)  What was I thinking?  Well anyway here it goes.
This is a big shout out and congrats. to a great bride and groom you guys were wonderful to work with.  I wish you all the best in the future.  Maybe the next time we get together we can do something on the bikes or maybe even trash the dress. (Mrs. Poole you did not just read that!)

Enjoy!!!

Game #3 and we are done

Now that I am awake enough to think about the game last night I can say WOW!  With all of the yelling and screaming going on you really could not tell that we all loved the game. (Ha Ha)  (I myself included in a lot of the yelling)  I can't speak for everyone last night but it does not get any better than that.  Yes. We lost but it was a hard fought battle. I have never seen a group of young girls come together and fight for something that hard in my life.  We talked a lot about team work in practice but you really don't know if it sinks in until you get in a situation like last night.  These girls are some of the best I have seen.  Like I said earlier you fought a hard fight but you also lost to a very respectful team and coaches.   So congrats to Rabun County 7&8 Allstars.
So now back to our girls.  I want to thank you for all of the hard work you have done in the past three weeks.  You could not have made me any more proud of you.  Through all of the blood, sweat and tears you are all champions in my book.  Oh yea!  One other thing the past three games have been one of the best roller coster rides I have ever been on.
So hold your heads up high, take a little time off to relax and get ready to come out swinging next spring.

Love you all (stars)

Allstars Game #2

What a game!!!  We won, We lost, no We won.  In fact we lost.  It was the most unusual game I think I have ever seen.  So what if we lost out of the winners bracket we are still alive and the way I see it this could even come out to be sweeter.  The Habersham Girls can hold their heads up high they played hard today.  I am so proud of all of them.  Good luck tomorrow.  Just keep your head up and play with all your heart.

Flash Back

This is when I look back and find the true value in what I do.  I like everyone else can get caught up in everyday life.  I seem to forget the little things in life that make life so good.
I was going through some old files today and came across this little gem.  So I got to thinking about my job as a photographer.  Yes, I do what I do to make money to put food on the table but there is something bigger than money and that is love for family.  I don't just shoot for today I shoot for the future.  I hope the people I shoot for have the same feeling about the work I do for them as I do for myself ten to twenty years down the road.  That feeling you get when you look at a photograph of yourself or your children and a flood of memories come back to you.
Like the photograph of Adelaide and Harlie today.  When I saw this (for one thing I had forgot about it) but I remember them running around playing while I was doing a portrait session.  I also remember Adelaide falling into the creek right before I was done. etc etc.
So before I go I just want to say, enjoy today because time slips away before you know it.
