Brenau Gallery Show Images

I am trying to start the year off right.  That means try to start blogging more.  I have been working on some fun stuff in the past few months.  One being getting the web site up and running.  I have been doing a little hunting and getting ready to get back to fishing.  The real reason for this post is to let you know that Brenau University has ask me to show some images in the up coming photography show.  The title of the show is local color.  It took me a while to think about this and it just came to me.  Habersham County is where I call home and since I am a big football fan and with just one high school in the county Friday nights in the fall is where all the local color comes out to play.  It was so hard to choose the photographs for this show.  Like I was telling the gallery I could do a show with about three times the number of photographs.  It may turn out that I end up doing something bigger later.  See what you think.

The Masters

Well The Masters have begun.  Who will be wearing the green jacket at the end of the day on Sunday?  Is Tiger back?  Will the new president of IBM be given a membership?   I have not given a lot of thought to any of these questions.  What I do know is back in 2008 I had the opportunity to go to a practice round due to a good friend Kurt Warren and witness this great place.  If you like golf or just like being out in the great outdoors you would really like to walk around Augusta National.  It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  Memories of the walk along with the images I was able to take back home with me I will not soon forget.  Thanks Kurt for having me tag along!!!

Frog Hollow Big Pig Shoot Out

I have been so bad about doing any post.  Sorry!!!  These photographs are from The Big Pig Shoot Out at Frog Hollow in Dahlonega, Ga.  If you are someone you know is interested in doing any fly fishing this is the place.  My friend Kenny Simmons runs the place for his family.  I talked to him a few days ago and he told me then that he is planning another Big Pig Shootout in the next couple of weeks.  You can check them out at  www.froghollowflyfishing.com.  Hope you enjoy the images.

Habersham Central vs. Rockdale Co.

Way to go Raiders with a Big Win on Friday Night.  The Raiders have not lost a game at home all year.  Now that is the way to defend your home turf.  Now I am not part of the Raiders football program I am just an independent freelance photographer that shoots for the Northeast Georgian.  That being said I would like to thank all of the fans for coming out and supporting these guys on Friday nights.  You can't imagine what it sounds like down on the field when a packed stadium starts to make some noise.  So for that I say a big THANK YOU!!!  Now let's see how many fans we can get in the seats for the first round of the playoffs.

This is just a preview of some of the places my students and I have been photographing lately.  This is Brianne a friend of one my students and now she can add modeling to her resume.  She did a great job yesterday and I just wanted to thank her for coming out and allowing me to photograph her.

Habersham and Loganville

WOW!!!  What a game.  It was a very tough game to shoot trying to hold an umbrella over me to keep the rain out of the camera.  The game however was intense.  I don't think I have worried at a high school football game that much in years.  The Habersham offense looked good on Friday night but when it came down to winning the game I can't say enough about the DEFENSE.  These were the guys that really stepped up and put the pressure on and to keep the game 47 to 45.  Congratulations guys you played great. As I always say ( I did not come up with this but I use it a lot )  The offense scores the points but the defense wins championships.
